Rock Springs at Kelly Park Florida

The garden of Eden is real people! And it’s located at Rock Springs at Kelly Park Florida! This natural spring has crystal clear (gator free) water that creates a natural lazy river that meanders through gorgeous woods and tall grasses. This is an amazing and affordable ($3-5 per car) family friendly place to bring a tube and a picnic and spend the day while staying in Central Florida.

Kelly Park/Rock Springs has a large shallow (3-4′ deep) swimming area with stair entry and a sandy bottom. It has grassy picnic areas as well as benches to sit down. They have restrooms, concessions and a camping area. From the main swimming area, it is a 5 minute paved walk to the start of the Spring. Once you begin the lazy river, it takes about 20-30 minutes to float to the end of the spring. The main swimming area is located halfway between the start and end of the spring. Many people get out at the swimming area, not realizing that they are only halfway done with the lazy river!

Important: This park fills up to capacity during the summer and holidays. You must arrive early as they often fill up by 9-10 am! Call ahead if you want to see if they are sold out for the day

.

This is where you exit the lazy river!

Must bring items:

Tube– I saw several people trying to walk the lazy river and they were tripping on rocks and having an awkward time of it. Bring a tube (no bigger than 5 feet!) or rent one ($7 per day) at the rental shop just outside the entrance to the park. The tube also makes a great place to sit when you are not floating in the water.

Food and beverages– Bring all the snacks and drinks you want to enjoy. You need cash if you plan on purchasing concessions. And leave the alcohol at home…it’s not allowed!

Goggles/snorkel/water toys– This is a great place for kids and the water is super clear so pull out the snorkel and check out the beauty underwater!

Sun protection– This park has lots of shaded areas, but you are still going to be exposed to the Florida sun, so bring the sunscreen, hats and sunglasses.

No Pets– Pets are not allowed!!
